Minister of Health and Social Affairs pays courtesy visit to Office of High Commissioner

18 July 2017

The High Commissioner’s team today had the pleasure of a visit from Mr Didier Gamerdinger, as a follow-on to taking up his duties as Minister of Health and Social Affairs.

This initial, very positive contact enabled the High Commissioner to provide the Minister with an overview of current cases and to agree with him an approach for ensuring smooth collaboration and efficient handling of petitions submitted by citizens to the Office of the High Commissioner.

As a result of its role, as well as its characteristic accessibility and community focus, the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs is one of the institution’s primary interlocutors within the Government, although it is also the one that has traditionally attracted the fewest complaints.

Mr Didier Gamerdinger expressed his wish, as head of the Ministry, to be attentive to the High Commissioner’s requests, and committed to taking a pragmatic and human approach to resolving issues referred to him, for the benefit of citizens and the quality of public policies implemented in the fields of health and social affairs.
