Meeting with the Economic and Social Council

As part of her dialogue with civil society, the High Commissioner visited the Economic and Social Council on 7 June at the invitation of the Council’s Chairman, Mr André Garino, to present a report on the Office of the High Commissioner’s activity during the preceding year, and to discuss the recommendations put forward in the report, particularly on economic and social issues.

This extremely productive meeting, which will now be held annually, highlighted the complementary nature of the thinking being done on certain issues and the interest in closer cooperation between the two institutions, in order to discuss the themes addressed and expand the scope of the recommendations or resolutions developed in parallel on certain topics of current interest, with a view to consolidating the input provided to the Government.
